Sensex shut shop at 16226, up 188 points and Nifty at 4855, up 53 points from the previous close. CNX Midcap index was up 0.52% and BSE Smallcap index was up 0.54%. The market breadth was positive with advances at 738 against declines of 526 on the NSE. Top Nifty gainers included ACC, Ranbaxy and Ambuja Cement, while losers were Bharti, Axis Bank and Hero Honda
